Vampire Weekend (SNL) and Spoon (ACL)
I saw a couple of “live” performances this last weekend. I didn’t see them in person, but I watched their broadcast via Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits. What was sort of ironic was that prior to watching them both of these bands were sort of on the “outs” for me. I always felt that Spoon was decent band, but wasn’t as solid as the hype would suggest and I was weary about the quick rise to fame of Vampire Weekend. The ironic part was that after watching both of these bands, I sort of felt differently about them.
