Ranking Quentin Tarantino

Quentin is one of my favorite directors. Every since I saw Reservoir Dogs I fell in love with his style of story telling and character development. After taking a stab at ranking the Coen brothers, I thought I’d try it again with QT.
Pulp Fiction – A+ – Tarantino at his best. Great story with twists and turns as well as intrigue
Reservoir Dogs – A – Classic Tarantino again.
Jackie Brown – A-/B+ – this is right up his alley, but uses a similar formula as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs
Four Rooms – B – It’s hard to give this a higher rating as he only wrote 1/4 of the movie, but his 1/4 was the best.
Death Proof – C+ – Tarantino goes again with his blood and guts gore, but adds some nice character development with it. Ending was pretty poor.
Kill Bill 1 – F – These movies really brought his overall rating down for me. While their are some interesting characters and somewhat intriguing plot line, I just get tired of the blood and guts overload. Too much focus on the gore and not enough to more critical elements like story and plot.
Kill Bill 2 – F – See above. I keep hoping he’ll bounce back. I guess we’ll wait and see.
