The Future of Music and What happened between 1977-1986

The Future of Music and What Happened from 1977 – 1986
So, it’s Monday night, and I realized I really hadn’t written about what’s been happening in the world of music recently, as i have been out of the loop for some time.
It would be very simple to sit here and call out all of the bullshit artists that have records out these days. I have had people that don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground tell me that I am arrogant to think that my opinion is more valuable than others when it comes to music. To these people, I would recommend telling your mechanic he’s full of shit the next time your car breaks down, and see how well that works…I’m guessing that you’d be doing an awful lot of walking in the weeks that follow.
So, with all due respect, I feel that I should explain why I have such a negative view of music as of late. While most people just say “this new stuff sucks”, I can actually propose a theory as to why, and here it is. Read more »
Mark Kozelek & Davey Von Bohlen (Maritime/Promise Ring) @ Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee on 6/7/08

So while on my vacation I stopped in Milwaukee to check out one of my favorite singer songwriters of all time, Mark Kozelek. Bill O’Reilly Flip Out Video
Maybe most of you have seen this by now, but it was too good just to assume you have and not post it. I was surfing on Buddyhead the other day and spotted this classic Bill O’Reilly Flip Out video. Most recently I had watched the Chris Berman flip out video’s, but this one has it’s own flavor. I’m not sure which one is better, but make sure you watch both.

The Lamest Excuse Ever
The Lamest Excuse Ever
OK, for this week’s blog I have to address an excuse that I am seemingly always presented with. Two of my favorite things to watch on television that aren’t sports are “To Catch a Predator” on NBC, and “COPS” on Fox. It’s not so much I enjoy the exploitation of people who are obviously lacking in some sort of mental capacity as it is the excuses they give for their actions.
For quite some time now, I’ve been presented with a very odd circumstance, and I knew that it was a load of shit the first time I heard it. In certain situations during the last decade, I have found myself at odds with a particular individual who possesses some awful character flaw. And in whatever social circle it might be it is commonplace to accept this particular character flaw. And when this particular imperfection is questioned, you hear the acquaintances of this moron bring up the same bullshit excuse: Read more »
