10 Questions with Ben Roy

Taking comedy audiences by storm since 2004, Ben Roy brings an unparalleled energy and unique voice to stage. Roy cut his comedic teeth in Denver at the legendary Comedy Works. Since then, he has been selected to perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, LA Riot Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Austin’s South by Southwest festival, and many more. He’s also been featured on HBO’s Funny as Hell series; in the John Wenzel Book Mock Stars: Indie Comedy and Dangerously Funny (alongside comedy greats like Patton Oswalt and Fred Armisen); and on the Comedy Central Show Adam DeVine’s House Party. Roy’s debut stand-up album, I Got Demons, was released in 2012 and ranked one of the “10 Best Comedy Albums of the year” by Laughspin. His second stand-up album, No Enlightenment in Sobriety, was released 2014. Most recently, Roy recorded his third stand-up album in March 2015 at Comedy Works. Roy and fellow Denver Comedians Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl (who collectively perform as The Grawlix) recently moved to LA where they are shooting 10 episodes for their new TruTV series Those Who Can’t, which is expected air in early 2016. Following that announcement, Variety named The Grawlix trio one of their “Top 10 Comics to Watch in 2015”. In addition to stand-up comedy, Roy is a prolific musician, currently the lead singer of SPELLS and I am very lucky to have him as my guest today in 10 questions.  Continue reading

10 Questions with Josh Rabinowitz from Friends of the People

Josh Rabinowitz is a 27 year old stand-up comedian in New York City. He has performed stand-up on Comedy Central’s “Adam Devine’s House Party” and Just for Laughs Montreal’s “All Access” on the Comedy Network. He has been named one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” and a “New Face” at Montreal JFL. Rabinowitz was a writer on Lucas Brothers’ “Super Late Morning Show” for Comedy Central Studios and played “Kent” on MTV’s “I Just Want My Pants Back.” Currently, he serves as head writer, executive producer, cast member, and creator of “Friends of the People” on TruTV, the network’s first scripted show. He is also the writer and lead of the short film “Hasta La Vista” which has been a 2015 official selection at IFF Boston, the Lower East Side Film Festival, and Just For Laughs Montreal. Josh also co-produced of the indie feature “5 Doctors” starring Matt Porter, Max Azulay, Bobby Moynihan, and Jeremy Shamos, which is currently in post-production. Dave Thomason is a stand-up comedian living in Los Angeles. He has appeared on Adam Devine’s House Party on Comedy Central, and was a finalist in the Comedy Central UP NEXT Competition.  He performs at festivals across the country, including the SF Sketchfest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.  Dave’s stand-up has also been featured on NPR’s “Snap Judgment”.   Continue reading

Originally from the beautiful state of Oregon, Randy Liedtke is a Los Angeles based standup comedian, actor, and writer. He has a podcast called the Bone Zone with fellow comedian Brendon Walsh on the All Things Comedy network. You may have seen him on the IFC series “Maron”, heard his voice on Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time”, or seen his stand up on this season of “Last Comic Standing” on NBC. He was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch of 2013, was chosen for the “New Faces” showcase at the Just for Laughs Festival in 2014, and will be performing stand up on the upcoming Season 2 of Adam Devine’s House Party on Comedy Central. Comedian Andrew Santino is currently a lead on ABC’s new series “Mixology” written and produced by the creators of The Hangover. He was recently named Comedy Central’s Top 10 Comedians To Watch and was in Montreal’s “Just for Laughs” comedy festival. His stand up television debut was on Adam Devine’s House Party on Comedy Central. He also recently Guest Starred on Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital, on Netflix’s Arrested Development, HBO’s Family Tree, and NBC’s The Office.
