In 2013 comedian Joe Zimmerman made his television debut on John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show on Comedy Central, and since has appeared on Conan, The Late Late Show, Season 8 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Nickelodeon, and recorded a Comedy Central Half Hour Special. He was also chosen as one of the New Faces at Just For Laughs Montreal, where he was positively reviewed by The Spit Take and Time Out NY. In 2014, he recorded his debut album Smiling at Wolves which reached #2 on iTunes, and Buzzfeednamed him a “comedian you should be paying attention to,” saying “The combination of Joe’s calming vocalization and inventive writing is a thing of magic.” Praised for an accessible style pairing absurdism with observational and autobiographical material, Joe is an original member of the Beards of Comedy, which toured from 2008 to 2012 and released two albums – 2011’s Cardio Mix and 2009’s Comedy for People. Based out of New York City, Joe is currently touring the country with his new hour. He hosts a popular science podcast called Universe City which comes out every Tuesday, as well as a monthly show at Union Hall in Brooklyn called “Deeperness”. 10 Questions with Steve Byrne

Steve Byrne has risen through the ranks of the comedy world to become one of the industry’s most innovative and sought-after performers. He has evolved throughout the years into an extremely versatile entertainer that delivers on a day-to-day basis. Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, Steve Byrne was born to a Korean mother and an Irish father. His unique background has given him the base comedic material for his first television show Sullivan & Son on TBS. He recently released his third one-hour standup comedy special, Champion, on Netflix in May 2014. In 2006, after winning TBS’ cutthroat competition, the “Standup or Sitdown Comedy Challenge”, Byrne was hurtled into a brilliant television and film career.  As his popularity began to expand, Byrne was featured in his very own half-hour Comedy Central Presents which was soon voted as one of the best specials of all time in the Comedy Central Standup Showdown. His hilarious standup has been seen on TBS’s Conan, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS’s The Late Late Show, BET’s Comic View and he has appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show a total of 10 times.  In 2008, Byrne’s first one-hour special, Steve Byrne’s Happy Hour, premiered on Comedy Central and further cemented his star status. Packing an impressively wide range of appeal, Byrne’s comedy soon landed him on the The History of the Joke on the History Channel and Discovery Channel’s, The Science of Laughter.  He has since appeared on some of TV’s hottest shows including ABC’s The Middle, Chappelle’s Show, The Howard Stern Show, The Very Funny Show and was a series regular on NBC’s The Real Wedding Crashers. His last special,The Byrne Identity, premiered on Comedy Central to rave reviews.  A true international comedian, Byrne has performed to sold-out crowds around the world.  He has been a featured comic at the Just for Laughs Festival (in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago), HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival in Las Vegas and the CanWest Comedy Fest in Vancouver.  He has been part of several national comedy tours including The Jameson Comedy Tour, Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Tour, The Kims of Comedy, The Camel Cigarettes Sin City Tour, and his own national Myspace Comedy tour.  Byrne even had the honor of opening for esteemed musical acts such as Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Modest Mouse, Puddle of Mudd, Spoon, Rev. Horton Heat and many more.  As a big supporter of the US troops, Steve also headlined several USO tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan and Guam.  Byrne has appeared in the hit comedies The Dilemma, Couples Retreat, Four Christmases and The Goods: The Don Ready Story.  His 2006 documentary, 13 or Bust, chronicles the attempt to perform 13 comedy shows in Manhattan in one night.  Byrne’s lack of ego and outstanding work ethic has helped him become one of today’s most respected comedians, and I am delighted to have him as my guest today in 10 questions.   Continue reading

Comedian Henry Cho’s TV and film credits include appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show, CBS’s The Late Late Show, and NBC’s Young Comedians Special. He served two years as host of NBC’s Friday Night Videos and had many guest roles on various network sitcoms. Henry’s one hour Comedy Central Special, “What’s That Clickin Noise?” is currently running and he can also be heard on Sirius XM and Blue Collar Radio. He’s also a regular performer at the Grand Ole Opry. Some of Henry’s film credits include Universal’s McHale’s Navy with Tom Arnold and David Allen Grier; Say It Isn’t So with Heather Graham and Sally Field; and Material Girls with Hilary Duff and Angelica Houston produced by Madonna. Henry was the keynote entertainer for The 59th Annual Radio & Television Correspondents’ Dinner attended by the Bush Administration and has worked extensively with Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Willie Nelson, Carrie Underwood and many, others. Henry’s clean comedy is so versatile that he can headline Vegas and then tour with Michael W. Smith in the same month. In 2012, Henry sold a special/pilot to GAC (Great American Country) in which he served as host, co-writer, and co-producer. “The Henry Cho Show” aired in Fall 2012. Steve Treviño is fast becoming one of the country’s hottest comics and the new voice for the 21st century Mexican American. Finding his way from a Hispanic upbringing in a small South Texas town to living his dream in Hollywood, has infused Treviño’s comedy with a “TEX-MEX” sensibility, yet as a performer he has a uniquely American voice that transcends anything about ethnicity, making him universally relatable. Outside of being a national headliner, Treviño has made memorable appearances on The Late Late Show, Comics Unleashed and BET Comic View, among others. He also wrote on Mind of Mencia and produced and wrote on rapper Pit Bull’s La Esquina. Most recently, Treviño landed in the Nielsen Top 20, with his 1st Showtime comedy special, Grandpa Joe’s Son. His 2nd special “Relatable” is currently airing on NUVOtv. John Roy began his comedy career in Chicago, where he studied Improv at Second City, and the Annoyance Theater. He moved to Los Angeles in 2004. Roy has appeared on numerous television programs including Conan, The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, Last Comic Standing, and CBS’ Star Search, where he was the first comedy champion. John is a regular performer on the most prestigious independent shows in comedy, including Meltdown Comedy at The Knitting Factory and Whiplash, as well as the best comedy clubs in North America, such as the Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, and the Comedy Attic. John has performed in the Just For Laughs Festival in Chicago, the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, the Limestone Festival, and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, OR. Together with James Adomian, John wrote and performed, along with Marc Maron, in the web series “Maron In Space” for Funny or Die and IFC in 2013. He is frequently heard on satellite radio and his AST Records release “Alexander Hamilton” was named one of the Ten Best Comedy Releases of 2013 by the LA Weekly. John’s podcast “Don’t Ever Change” has comedians talk about their high school years and has featured Dan Harmon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Kyle Kinane.
